The McDowell High Fine Arts Department offers an array of classes and activities that allow our students to express their individuality visually, musically and dramatically. Band and Chorus provide a variety of musical experiences. Among these are concert, marching and jazz bands, chorus and ensemble. In the visual arts students can try their hands at drawing, painting and sculpting, as well as a variety of other arts and crafts. Drama offers the opportunity to perform on stage in small productions throughout the year and the experience of becoming involved in all aspects of the major annual spring musical. Creative Dance and Color Guard allow the students to express themselves through a combination of music and movement. The arts are an important part of the program and a vital ingredient in the growth and make-up of a well-rounded student.
